summer lovin

So what happens when the power is OUT for three nights and days in Plano and we've already been through a generator that Nelson and my dad filled with gas throughout the night?? We have our first night and slumber party at the NEW house (minus some furniture and tv's) and of course graciously invite Sugar and Papa to join us and get out of the heat(the least we could do after months at their house and all of the labor and love theyve pourend into the new house)!  It was such a special memory and a fun way to spend our first night! Movies, late night, laughs and good times!

Fittingly, Papa gave her the first bath at the new house in her pink bathroom!

and....what happens when youre in charge of the dessert for supper club that has to be baked in the over and STILL no power????? You are blessed with the sweetest neighbor and friend, Hope who not only gets all of your ingredients for you, but also drives to another neighborhood that does have power and BAKES your dessert so you can still show up looking like Martha Stewart...THANK YOU HOPE! It was Delicious!!!

We had our monthly dinner club at the Bloom's cute house this month. Kennedy pretty much thinks she is in charge of the "beebees"....here she is with handsome Griffin

We had a Wood family gathering to celebrate Missy's birthday and meet baby Presley!! We took up the whole restaurant and it was so much fun seeing everyone and watching all the kiddos play together!

Home Slice and Amy's Ice Cream with Fulton on South Congress! Might I say that this boy has lived in the coolest places in Austin and the high rise he is in now over looks Town Lake...very nice!

Tatum was a flower girl in our wedding 4 and a half years ago and I cant believe how grown up she is getting!! In fact she turned 13 this past weekend! She is still as gorgeous as ever and quite the athlete! I love their whole family...our family away from home in Austin! ;)

An Austin brunch with one of our favorite couples Niki and DU! Niki and I go way back teaching at Capitol School...oh the memories!!! She recently launched her own business sprinkledwithwords.com Check it out for some good cooking, learning and therapy fun! Du does photography amidst other things so we always have fun chatting it up!It was so great seeing them and were super excited about their engagement! Way to go Nik's!!!

We got to see the Reinemunds  at a wedding in Brenham this past weekend.  We have long loved their kids and miss the days of "teenager" sitting with the twins but glad to hear that they are doing so well in NC! Loved getting to spend the evening with this crew and meet Jonathan's girlfriend, Kate!
One of my all time favorite people in the world. We have missed our dear friends so much!

We took a little day trip out to see Carrie's new home in Baytowne. Honey drove us all around the small town and I felt like we went back in time. It was the neatest place! We had lunch at the local diner with CiCi and Jasper too!!
